Passage plans for Queen Charlotte Sound and Tory Channel Pilotage areas will be sent directly to an arriving vessel at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
The passage plan will include the following elements:

A waypoint table for entry into the vessel's ECDIS or for plotting on conventional paper charts.

A dynamic manouevring plan showing how the vessel will be manoeuvred onto the berth.

A mooring plan clearly showing the final postion of the ship on the berth and the number and disposition of moorings.

For vessels of more than 165m length overall
OR more than 8.5m draft, two tugs are employed.
Maungatea is a 28T bollard pull tractor tug and
Monowai is a 28T bollard pull voith tug, both owned by Port Marlborough NZ Ltd.
Levanter and
Rossco are owned and operated by Nautilus Pacific Maritime Contractors Ltd. A Nautilus Pacific tug may be used as the second tug if one of the Port Marlborough tugs is not available. Levanter and Rossco are conventional, twin screw tugs rated at 10T and 15T bollard pull respectively.
