Passage Planning
MSMP pilots are trained in and practice Bridge Resource Management principles and follow standard operating procedures. After boarding the pilot will develop a pilotage passage plan in consultation with the bridge team.
The following information represents commonly used routes and waypoints in Marlborough waters. Ship masters should use these as the basis for passage planning prior to pilot boarding. Any variation from these waypoints will be noted by your pilot during the master pilot exchange and passage planning briefing. Please note that inbound and outbound routes use different waypoints to assist in seperating inbound and outbound traffic in some areas.
